Unawatuna is a coastal town in Galle District known for its beautiful beach and corals. Located about 5 kilometres southeast of Galle city center, it is one of Sri Lanka's most beloved beach destinations. Despite significant development, it remains home to the endangered and endemic purple-faced langur, a shy monkey species found only in Sri Lanka's forests.
